Do you remember when we were all obsessing over dupes? Long are gone these times (at least for me, I just got too lazy for hunting them down, haha!), but now & then an accidental dupe discovery does make my heart flutter a little. Especially when the price ratio is £3 to £14.50 – BAM! So let’s have a closer look at all this hoohah – it’s a dupe of Daniel Sandler’s Watercolour Blush in Flush – and the cheerful little dupe thing is Makeup Revolution’s Vivid Blush Lacquer in Rush (that is, like, c’mooon – Flush AND Rush??!).
Now to the dupeness itself – apart from the name rhyming, the most striking similarity is the colour. In the packaging and pumped out they are not exactly terribly similar looking, but once you blend them – oh my God! I can’t really tell much difference to be honest. The Danial Sandler one is maybe a teeny weeny itsy bitsy bit darker and toned down, but the difference is so easy to overlook. As to the consistency, they are obviously quite different – the Daniel Sandler blush is liquid & the Makeup Revolution one is very Elf-HD-blush-esque (which by the way is £4.50!), therefore the consistency is a bit thicker. Both of them are easy to use with a stippling blush and the pigmentation is rather strong. As to the performance – surprisingly, I’d say that the Makeup Revolution one stays on for longer as it seems to work a bit like a cheek stain – shocking, right?!
Overall, sorry Daniel, but I’ll have to go with Makeup Revolution this time. You can get the Daniel Sandler blush here for £14.50 and the Makeup Revolution one here for £3. Read more about my favourite cream blushers in this post.
