It’s been a while since I’ve done a full on beauty review on this blog – but since I’ve started venturing into the world of natural beauty products I’ve discovered so many beautiful brands that perhaps this is the right time to start spreading the word about them. The very first discovery which I’m extremely happy with is this gorgeous Lavender and rosewood body butter from Anemone.
Who’s Anemone?
A lot of natural beauty brands which you can buy in the Czech Republic are surprisingly Slovakian based. And so is Anemone. A little brand that was created by a couple passionate about soap making who discovered that making natural products is not all that difficult when you’re making them truly natural with ingredients from your garden and packaging them into paper boxes or glass jars (which are both reusable and recyclable). I first came across this brand on Vemzu but you can find their full array of products on their own website too.
Why this lavender and rosewood body butter?
Apart from the fact that it smells absolutely heavenly (and the scent really dost last on your skin despite it being “just” a natural beauty product – which are typically not overly scented) it’s got some pretty good ingredients in it. In the list of ingredients (which isn’t particularly long, and they also took the time to explain each ingredient in brackets) you can find for example shea butter, calendula oil, rose hip oil, vitamin E and many other essential oils and herbal extracts. The butter itself is very thick, similar to shea butter when kept in the fridge, but it spreads nicely and evenly (it melts on touch pretty fast). It’s super hydrating and soothing on skin, although keep in mind that it is a fairly oily affair (due to the high content of various oil extracts) so the best thing is to apply it right after shower and then wait for a couple minutes for it to soak in.
This body butter has not been tested on animals and comes in a glass jar which is reusable and also recyclable.
You can also get this body butter in various other scents – I believe they have a grapefruit one and one without any scent at all. The brand also makes body oils, lip balms, soaps and seem to be developing new products as we speak. I am well excited to try some other products from them because this body butter is just so gorgeous!
Unfortunately at the moment they only ship to Slovakia at the moment (their online store is HERE) and you can find their products in a few Czech shops with natural beauty products. Fingers crossed they expand soon – I could totally see them on Cult Beauty!
Which of their products would you love to try?
