I’ve always been a big fan of oils. Oils are great for massages. They are great to hydrate your skin and smooth your hair. Oils are delicious in your salad. And they are an amazing food supplement for your cat. But finding a high quality oil that hasn’t been boosted with chemicals and diluted with cheaper oils is not an easy thing to do. When I discovered the tridoshik oil by EcceVita I was over the moon. Finally a multipurpose oil that’s not just a bottle of an overpriced perfumed silicone.
What is EcceVita?
EcceVita is a Czech brand with more than 20 years of experience in natural medicine. Their products are all natural and don’t contain any unnecessary chemicals. That goes for their beauty products as well as for their supplements, teas and recently also various delicious foods. Their philosophy is to cleanse and heal the body through traditional recipes and methods which our ancestors used to use and love. That’s where this gem of a tridoshik oil comes in.
Why an Ayurvedic tridoshik oil?

Ayurveda is basically an ancient system of holistic medicinal practices. According to this philosophy the body is divided into a number of doshas and to achieve bodily harmony all three doshas need to be aligned and in balance. That’s my laic understanding of the story behind this oil anyways.
I believe that no one will be offended by my lack of understanding of Eastern philosophy whilst still appreciating the quality and characteristics of this brilliant oil. Not only is it based on centuries of healing experience, it also contains extracts from 14 different herbs. All these extracts are then mixed with about 14% of lavender and sesame oil. This means that the oil itself is highly potent and not just an “oil”. Over 80% of the contents of this little bottle are high quality herbal extracts!
Then, what’s particularly interesting is that the oil doesn’t have much scent to it. Which is what you’d expect from such a rich herbal concoction. It’s actually the opposite – natural herb extracts are not fragrant. They contain active ingredients from said herbs whilst the scent is not an active ingredient. Makes sense doesn’t it?
Uses of the tridoshik oil
You can use this rich herbal oil in as many was as you want. Just keep in mind that it’s for external use only. You can use it for massages. Apply it on dry legs or elbows. Use it as a nourishing nail treatment. Massage your hair roots with it and leave on for 15 minutes as an intensive hair and scalp treatment. Use it on your face as a re-hydrating smoothing night pack. Your skin then feels so damn soft and you’re so relaxed. Using this oil always reminds me of the feeling you have after you’ve been to a spa experience.
This fantastic oil is very gentle on skin but since it does contain such a high concentration of potent herbs, so please do test it on a your wrist at least 24 hours before dosing yourself in it. Sometimes our skin finds it difficult to deal with such highly concentrated natural ingredients and can get slightly irritated.
You can get this beautiful multi-purpose tridoshik oil here on the EcceVita website (CZ) or you can buy it in a shop called Biooo which is located right in the city centre of Prague.
