Top 6 of 2020 Korean beauty trends to try with Skinfood

Top 6 of 2020 Korean beauty trends to try with Skinfood

South Korea has been a major key player in the global beauty industry in recent years. Korean skincare routines and products had become hugely popular trends over the years. Many South Korean skincare and cosmetic companies have successfully launched their lines in the international beauty market, especially in the beauty ecommerce industry.

Korean beauty trends will continue to be influential this 2020, so stock up on your favorite Skinfood Korean beauty products this year.

Here’s a list of the top Korean beauty trends:

1. Skip-care

We all know about the very meticulous, 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine that made skincare almost synonymous with k-beauty. However, more people have begun to realize that not all the routine steps are necessary, or even achievable, to do every day. Thus, a minimalized version of the 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine has developed, dubbed as skip-care.

Multi-functional products that consolidate your skincare routine will be a trend in skip-care, with cream skin as the flagship in the skip-care pattern. If you’re planning to reduce the number of cleansing steps, you can do well with the Egg White Perfect Pore Cleansing Foam as a substitute for oil and water cleanser steps.

2. Cream skin

Last year, glass skin had been the trend all over the k-beauty sphere. Donning the glass skin look was achieved by layering essences, serums, and hydrating moisturizers on the surface to produce a glossy, dewy skin with a glass-like sheen.

In 2020, glass skin has been replaced with cream skin. Cream skin is both a product type and a kind of texturized look. Cream skin is a product that is a combination of a toner and moisturizer. Unlike the lengthier and honestly quite difficult to achieve glass skin look, cream skin is based on the multi-functional, minimalist skip-care philosophy.

The routine results in producing a soft, moisturized, and supple – although not luminously glassy – look. You can use the White Grape Fresh Up Foundation to create a beautiful matte base for your look.

3. Clean beauty

Creating beauty products minus environmental pollution will be a long-standing trend in the beauty industry, and now more so in Korean beauty. Most Korean skincare and cosmetic lines are now formulating products free of parabens, fragrances, artificial colorants, and other harmful ingredients.

Eco-conscious packaging and recycled packaging is also a trend among skincare and beauty companies. With minimal wastage during the manufacturing process, manufacturing clean and eco-conscious beauty products is also a growing trend in South Korea’s beauty industry.

Rice Mask Wash Off is one of the products that promote clean beauty because it contains rice as its primary component.

4. High-content active ingredients

Skincare focused on high-quality, single-ingredient products with high amounts of active ingredients is a rising trend in k-beauty. Single-ingredient skincare is a growing demand due to its effectiveness in targeting specific skincare issues, instead of generalized products that contain a broad range of ingredients.

Single-ingredient products are perfect for sensitive skin, as unnecessary additional ingredients can cause reactions. It is also ideal for people trying to fix specific skincare issues in a shorter time due to its target focus. One of the Skinfood products that contain active ingredients is the Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence that can help enhance the effect of serums and treatments.

5. Tone-correcting cosmetics

Brightening and tone-improving skincare products were a trend over the past years. Now, tone-correction has been extending over to cosmetics, creating makeup products that aim to improve skin complexion over time with added skincare ingredients, instead of just covering skin blemishes and dull tones.

For example, Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream can help provide an excellent makeup base and improve skin tone with continued use.

6. Highly-personalized skincare and cosmetics

A more simplistic approach and listening to your skin’s individual needs, instead of going on with the latest hype will be the trend. Due to better technology and accessibility, highly customized cosmetics products became a trend recently.

Skincare products may catch up on this trend and create extremely personalized skincare products specifically designed for a single individual’s needs and preferences, thanks to data science and cutting-edge technology (skin and DNA samples).

Final thoughts

Skincare is becoming more popular, especially nowadays, as people have more time to focus on themselves. Skinfood is one of the most well-known brands with an excellent reputation for fresh and natural ingredients. It’s better to try beauty trends with high-quality products than risk doing more harm than good to your skin.
